Robert Dodds was born in England and grew up in Yorkshire and Kent. He went to Oxford University to study English and then went onto become a teacher and spent time teaching in Mexico.
Robert has written short stories for two volumes of Scottish Short Stories and has had others read on BBC Radio 4. Robert has also worked on a stage production, written various short films for BBC 2 as well as abridging texts for BBC radio.
Since 1985 he has lectured in film and TV production at Edinburgh College of Art. He enjoys travel and languages as well as various sports, photography and reading - of course! Robert has two children and lives in Edinburgh.
His first children's book, The Midnight Clowns, published by Andersen Press in 2000, was shortlisted for the Kathleen Fidler Award.
