Kate MacLachlan grew up in Belfast in the 1970s, which was, she says, 'quite exciting really'. She went to Dundee University, and now works as a Social Worker in a Community Mental Health Team. She is married and lives in Inverness-shire with an assortment of animals. They have three teenage children. She has had a number of articles and short stories published, but Love My Enemy was her first book.
Richard MacSween has worked in various industries including forestry and construction, but now teaches English at a further education college. He has written poetry for several magazines, had a short story broadcast on BBC Radio 4, and one of his plays is being taken to the Edinburgh Festival.
David McKee’s first book was published in 1964. His books are now published in many languages throughout the world, and many of them have been adapted for television. He is one of the leading contemporary children's book creators.
"The first Elmer book seemed like a great and original one-off, McKee's extraordinary imagination and colourful art have between them maintained originality and delight over all these years: amazing." Chris Brown, School Librarian
