DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGER
£Competitive – Central London
Andersen Press, an independent, award-winning children’s book publisher, is looking to appoint a Digital Content Manager to take responsibility for the production and administration of its digital publishing programme and its company websites.
The successful candidate will be able to display good communication skills, enthusiasm for digital markets and initiative working within this ever-changing area of publishing.
Experience/Skills required:
- A very good understanding of ebook coding and formats
- A sound knowledge of simple content management systems, eg Joomla, Wordpress
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat Professional and Dreamweaver
- Excellent IT skills including knowledge of Quark and InDesign
- Excellent written English and basic proofreading skills
- An interest in children’s books and the developing digital media
- A keen eye for design and attention to detail
Key Duties:
- Responsibility for the e-book production of fiction and picture book titles in various formats, both in-house and externally
- Working closely with suppliers for file conversion, carrying out quality control and managing the files in BiblioDam
- Using Biblio3 and BiblioDam to control territories and bibliographic data
- Maintaining the content on the company’s two websites and handling its hosting
- Managing the digital archiving on BiblioDam
- Checking and, where necessary, clearing e-book and e-version rights
- Building strong working relationships internally with the rights, publicity, editorial and design departments and externally with third party digital licensees
- General office admin tasks including the distribution of mail, franking the post and ordering stationery
