John Fardell was born and brought up near Bristol, and has lived in Edinburgh since the early 1990s. As well as writing and illustrating children’s books, he has worked as a cartoonist, creating cartoons and comic strips for a wide range of newspapers and magazines, and has also work in the field of puppet theatre. He enjoys travelling throughout Scotland and further afield, carrying out sessions in school and libraries where he encourages children to create their own illustrated stories.
