Marketing Executive
Andersen Press is looking for a full-time Marketing Executive to work across their its successful children’s publishing list, including picture books, fiction and young adult books.

Andersen Press is a leading independent children’s publisher, and home to some of the biggest names in the world of children’s books, including the much-loved picture book characters Elmer the Patchwork Elephant and the Little Princess. Andersen Press is the publisher of many award-winning authors and illustrators including Phil Earle, Melvin Burgess, Kwame Alexander, Hiba Noor Khan, Alex Wheatle, Harry Woodgate, Susin Nielsen, Yvette Fielding, Julian Clary, David Roberts, Tony Ross, David McKee, and Jeanne Willis. The company was founded in 1976 by Klaus Flugge.
Who You Are
You will be a creative, passionate and organised team member with exceptional communication skills and industry knowledge. You will have a great eye for design, with proven experience of working with design software, such as Photoshop and InDesign. You will ideally have 1-2 years’ experience in a marketing role in publishing, preferably children’s.
You will be joining a small but enthusiastic Publicity and Marketing team, reporting to the Head of PR, supporting them on marketing campaigns across our list of children’s and YA books.
The role is full-time and offers hybrid working. Our office is based in central London.
Your Responsibilities
- Implementing social media campaigns
- Briefing designers for adverts and handling the printing of marketing materials
- Coordinating the creation of our seasonal catalogues
- Communicating marketing campaigns to all stakeholders
- Assisting the Head of PR and Head of Brand with partnerships with external brands and organisations
- Representing the company at events and conferences, when necessary

Publicity Assistant

You will be an organised, proactive and confident team player with bags of initiative, enthusiasm, and passion for children’s books. You will be an excellent multi-tasker with impeccable verbal and written communication skills. This is the perfect role for someone who has completed internships and work experience placements in publishing and is looking for their first role in the industry.
You will be joining the Publicity and Marketing team, reporting to the Head of PR, supporting the department on their campaigns across the full list of titles.
The role is full-time and our office is based in central London.
Your responsibilities
- Collating reviews and press coverage, and updating stakeholders
- Organising travel arrangements, hotels, and schedules for authors and illustrators
- Maintaining databases, updating systems, and raising invoices
- Organising mailings and couriering services, ordering stationery and office equipment
- Helping with social media, posting when required
- Handling awards submissions
- Attending author events, industry conferences and festivals across the country when required
- Writing and submitting effective copy, press releases, and helping with simple design tasks
- Acting as a point of contact for the department and monitoring the publicity inbox daily
