We are so pleased to announce that DON’T TRUST FISH written by Neil Sharpson, illustrated by Dan Santat, has won the Peters Picture Book of the Year 2026 Award! The hilarious story, paired with striking illustrations, clearly made a splash amongst teachers and librarians across the UK.
Peters’ judges were unanimous in their praise for DON’T TRUST FISH, a ‘clever,’ ‘delightful’ book that at first glance appears to be a straightforward, non-fiction title – but all is not as it seems!
The Peters Awards take place annually to celebrate the best of children’s fiction and non-fiction published in the UK. Huge well done to Neil and Dan for taking home this award and for creating such a well-loved book.
